Langkawi, Malaysia

Day 14 - Langkawi, Malaysia

From the Navigator - This morning, Dawn Princes will make contact with the local Langkawi pilot, confirming our arrival time at the pilot station. We then plan to embark the local pilot at around 7.15am and once the master/pilot exchange of information is completed we will maneuver off the berth and swing the ship through 180 degrees before going starboard side alongside.

  • Langkawi is made up of more than 100 islands. We were on Pulau, Langkawi the largest Island. Where Kuala Lumpur is a large metropolitan city, Langkawi is a laid back tropical Island. It is very green despite the heat because it is humid. Today we rented a car with our friends, Arnold (our good left side of the road driver), Ros, Dennis and Anthea. All great traveling partners. We drove around the island and the first thing we saw was a monkey with a diaper, clinging to his owner shoulder, on the back of a motorcycle. We stopped at the beach to get a look at the ocean and the white sandy beaches. The water was clear and turquoise blue. Stopped at the marina to look at the yachts. We went on cable car. The Cable car was great it went up approximately 2000 feet. Amazing view from the top of the rainforest and the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls. On a clear day you can see Thailand to the north and Indonesia to the southwest. At the base of the cable car we went in to the Fish Spa. Yes Mother like daughter Christy. We all join the fishes in the spa and they nibbled on our feet. We had a nice relaxing day in Langkawi.
