Singapore

From the Navigator - Throughout the early hours of the morning, Dawn Princess will transit the Malacca Straits. Around 4.30am we will cross the traffic separation scheme, towards the pilot station. We will then embark the pilot, proceeding in to Cruise Bay and alongside our berth.

We spent a wonderful Day in Singapore. Singapore is a wonderfully diverse county. It is a crossroads of East and West. Its Harbor is one of the busiest ports in the World. Their Official languages are Chinese, Malay, Tamil and English. The size is 267 Sq. miles the size of Washington DC. The population is 4.8 Million. Singapore is a very clean city. It is against the law to chew gum, eat or drink on the street. There are no trash cans on the street. Caning is a form of punishment in Singapore.

We got off the Ship and took the MRT (Subway) to China town, Little India and Orchard Rd. It was raining but it did not dampen our day. We enjoyed the Food Markets in China town (We did pass on the pecking duck heads for lunch even if they were only one dollar). We enjoyed the shops and product markets in Little India, all color, texture and sounds. Then off we went to Orchard Rd the upscale shopping area. Where we enjoyed a nice cup of coffee and Moroccan mint tea at the Island Café on top of Tangs Department store. Then back to the ship via the MRT. Next, Port Klang for Kuala Lumpur.
