Day 46 - Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona Spain has a population of 3 million people; the whole county has 40 million. In 1992 Barcelona hosted the Summer Olympics and this allowed the Barcelona to renovate a big part of the city, especially the waterfront where the Olympic Village was situated. Barcelona is a very clean city, with lots of history and unique architecture. Randy and I were here a few years ago with our good friends Joe and Maryan. At that time we visited all the works of Antoni Gaudi ( yes and this is where the saying came from, That's Gaudi) His work is over the top especial for his time 1852 -1926. He style is worth seeing, since we had been inside his Park and Church we choose to take the Hop on Hop off bus. The bus has three lines the Red, Blue and Green lines and we managed to see all three, but got back to the Ship with about 15 mins to spare. For those that have never been on a Hop on Hop off bus they are great as the go by all the important sites in the city and you get on and off as you wish. It was a great value for 23 Euros. So we did see the Antoni Gaudi sites from the outside again. His work is amazing, The Sagrada Familia Park Guell and the Placa de Catalunya. We saw so much that I can't describe it all. I will just say that we enjoyed Barcelona and a little sad that we were here on a Sunday because all the shops were closed, only the cafés were open. Hope you enjoy the pictures. After 5 ports in a row we have one sea day to relax and then the next Port is Gibraltar.
