Mykonos, Greece

Day 37 - Mykonos, Greece

We arrived in Mykonos, Greece¸ one of the many Greek islands, early in the morning. It was a tender port for us, the Ship anchored in the harbor and we were shuttled to the wharf by tender boats.

We had a relaxing morning wandering the streets of Mykonos town, with its many café's and shops. The town sits on a hill. On Mykonos the buildings are painted white with blue, red, green shutters and roofs. There are many alley ways that whine throughout the town. It was designed this way to protect it from pirates and the weather. There are 15 wind mills on Mykonos that were used to grind wheat in the olden days, which are famous symbols of Mykonos. Late morning we caught the bus to Ornos Beach were we had a swim in the Aegean Sea. Well Randy had a swim; I got into it up to my knees. It was a little on the cold side for me. All in all it was a nice, quiet and lovely day. Tomorrow Istanbul, Turkey.
